Rosanna Peralta

BSN, RN, CCRN

“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your guidance. The Diversity CRNA information session in 2016/2017, essay workshop, and mock interviews helped me tremendously. Dr. Sanchez also helped me with 1:1 mock interviews. I got accepted to the University of Maryland’s CRNA program and got waitlisted for Columbia University. I am over the moon. This was my third time applying and I retook all of my science courses. I could not have done it without your support. I hope to become a part of diversity CRNA and help others the same way you all helped me.”

“My name is Rosanna Peralta and I was recently accepted to the University of Maryland CRNA Program. I am over the moon with excitement and have gratitude towards the guidance I received from the Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship Program. I participated in two Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshops, a personal statement workshop, and three group interview sessions. In addition, I completed graduate pathophysiology, graduate pharmacology, and retook most of my science courses. I remained positive and took it one step at a time to become a strong candidate. Every semester I had goals to improve myself academically and as a critical care RN. I re-applied to these programs and did not become discouraged. It is important to keep a clear image of your dream and not give up just because you need to wait a year or more. I am not only the first in my family to attend a university, but now I am the first in my family to work towards obtaining a doctorate. Thank you Dr. Gould for creating an organization that uplifts and encourages all to follow our dreams.”

“I had originally emailed you with my acceptance into the University of Maryland CRNA Program, but I was later accepted into Columbia University CRNA Program. It was a hard decision but I will be attending Columbia. I could not have done this without the diversity CRNA! I wanna thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Have a great day.”
