Repeat after me...I will be a CRNA!
A legacy building movement...
A testimony of change in trajectory for Zharia Allums, BSN, RN, CCRN towards CRNA journey.
"September 2024, I had the opportunity to attend a Diversity CRNA Event at Duke University where I got to practice placing central lines, a-lines, intubations (w/ and w/o a Glidescope), epidurals, and spinal blocks, alongside practicing CRNAs.
I am grateful for this experience as it not only aided in my learning, but solidified that I am destined to become a CRNA in the near future.
Thank you Wallena Gould, EdD, CRNA, FADLN, FAANA, FAAN for such an amazing experience!"

Happy Sunday!
My degree finally arrived in the mail!
In 2017, at just 19 years old, I graduated from Delaware County Technical School with a diploma in Practical Nursing.
In 2022, I received my Diploma in Nursing from
Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
2 years later, in 2024, I graduated from the RN to BSN program, Summa Cum Laude at
West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Climbing up the ladder.
Next stop DNP in Nurse Anesthesia.
God willing.

Dear Marcus D. Henderson, MSN, RN, a Future PhD Researcher and Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing,
I watched you from afar for a while and admired your commitment towards advocacy and justice in nursing.
I absolutely love your PhD journey and how your presence uplift other men of color to do the same. I hope you permit me to ask publicly if I can come and listen to your PhD defense at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
I witnessed your brilliance as a moderator at the ANA Equity Summit and know your body of work will be felt for generations to come in nursing and in our communities.
In this video, 30 years from now, men of color in nursing, will see you in the same light. I am sure of it.
Keep shining…I look forward to witnessing more from you as you contribute your wealth of new knowledge in this much needed space.
Respectfully,
Dr. Gould
