Anita O., Nurse Anesthesia Resident, MSN, RN, CCRN, CMC from Rosalind Franklin University School of Medicine & Science
1st clinical rotation ✅ ⛽️ 🫁 🩺💉—> I think 5 more to go!
-Great Clinical site! Great preceptors! 💣
-Started enthusiastic, Finished great❗️
* Delivered anesthesia during more than 100 procedures (across all depths of anesthesia).
* counting down to be done with this doctoral ish (still got 473 days more), but progressing through the anesthesia world.
A bit of advice I’d give to Nurse Anesthesia Residents out there 👇🏽
-Learn from ‘all CRNAs’ (ALL! Get to experience the art of anesthesia from different artists🥰‼️)
• Be kind, be friendly (not a push-around), be respectful
• Be proactive
• Be your own advocate
• Be enthusiastic to learn all skills (PUSH YOURSELF)
• Stay Prepared, Flexible, Confident
• Report unusual behaviors (from preceptors, nurses, physicians etc) —> you enable them when you keep quiet ❗️
• Prioritize your health & education (lotta money for a tuition to compromise)
• Be YOU (SUPER SMART) —> don’t SHRINK yourself to make someone else comfortable❗️

Hello Dr. Gould,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out to inform you that I was recently accepted into St. Lukes Health Network/DeSales University CRNA program in Pennsylvania!
Thank you for everything you do for the profession, for all of us with the same vision and dream. I hope to one day have the opportunity to give back and be part of Diversity CRNA Mentorship Program to help others achieve their dream of being a CRNA.
I hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Genesis Bueno, MSN FNP-BC CCRN

And, just like that, Queeneth Onyedi, BSN, RN, CCRN was accepted into a Doctorate in Nurse Practice Nurse Anesthesia Program!
In 2023, Queeneth attended the weekend long Diversity CRNA Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop hosted at Virginia Commonwealth University! Today, acccepted into her number choice from her lost of nurse anesthesia programs!
As per Queeneth:
Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Isaiah 25:1; LORD, you are my God I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.
Today, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement as I share that I’ve been accepted into CRNA school! This isn’t just a career milestone, it’s a deeply personal journey that has shaped who I am.
Every struggle taught me resilience, every challenge revealed a strength I didn’t know I had, and every patient inspired me to keep moving forward. Now, as I embark on this next chapter in CRNA school, I’m ready to dive deeper into my passion for patient care and continue growing both professionally and personally.
Here’s to new beginnings, relentless perseverance, and the promise of making an even greater difference in healthcare. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. The best is yet to come!

A crna•ish story of lasting friendships in Nurse Anesthesia journey
The best part about being immersed with the early professional socialization process pursuing Nurse Anesthesia is the friendships that are launched across the country.
Notably, all of them attended a Diversity CRNA Event as a critical care nurse before applying to nurse anesthesia programs.
They rejoined as nurse anesthesia students as panelists & preceptors at the Diversity CRNA 2024 Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop hosted at the University of Pittsburgh
The nurse anesthesia programs represented from these graduate student panelists are the University of Pittsburgh, Virginia Commonwealth University, La Roche University, Emory University, University of Buffalo, Mary Baldwin University & Case Western Reserve University!
