MAY 2024
DIVERSITY CRNA NEWSLETTER

Dear Diversity CRNA Community,
I am thrilled to kick off this May newsletter with a reflection on the resounding success of our first in-person event of 2024 – the Diversity CRNA Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop at Midwestern University. The immersive experience was brimming with enthusiasm and knowledge. A heartfelt thank you to all who participated and contributed to making this event an enriching and memorable occasion. Please check out the pictures and videos from this awesome event.
As we continue to journey through May, it is imperative that we also recognize Mental Health Awareness Month. Now more than ever, it is essential to prioritize mental health and well-being, both personally and professionally. The demanding nature of our work in healthcare, compounded by external stressors, underscores the importance of self-care, support systems, and destigmatizing conversations surrounding mental health. Let us use this month as an opportunity to foster empathy, understanding, and resilience within our community.
May is not just a month on the calendar; it is a month where we honor the resilience of cultures, celebrate the dedication of nurses, and cherish the love and nurturing spirit of mothers.
National Nurses Week, spanning from May 6th to 12th, offers us a moment to pause and honor the tireless efforts and unwavering dedication of nurses worldwide. In every ward, clinic, and operating room, nurses serve as beacons of compassion and healing, embodying the essence of care in its purest form. To all the nurses within our Diversity CRNA family, your commitment to excellence and advocacy inspires us each day.
Moreover, during Mother's Day, let us extend our deepest gratitude to the nurturing figures in our lives – the mothers, grandmothers, and motherly mentors who shape our paths with love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Your guidance and sacrifices pave the way for future generations of leaders and caregivers.
Together, let us stand united in our mission to cultivate a more inclusive, equitable, and empowered future for nurse anesthesia. We are agents of change, catalysts for progress, and champions of diversity. With boundless optimism and unwavering resolve...
