Saturday, Information Session Hilton Pasadena Hotel
 
On Saturday: Three Nurse Anesthesia Directors from Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia, University of Southern California & Samuel Merritt University will present on their respective Nurse Anesthesia Programs and CRNA Presenters. Also, we will have CRNA presenters and a nurse anesthesia resident panel with mock interview panel of selected critical care nurses!
 
Our keynote speaker: Dr. Yosmel Serrano, DNAP, CRNA will present on his AANA Journal published manuscript: Racial and Ethnic Discrimination During Clinical Education and its Impact on the Well-Being on Nurse Anesthesia Students
 
On Sunday, we will host an all day simulation lab hands-on experience for diverse critical care nurses before applying to nurse anesthesia programs across the country! This is a filled to capacity weekend event.

DAY 2- DIVERSITY CRNA Information Session
 
Morning moderator, Amin Azam, CRNA (Alumni, Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia & Founder/CEO of Sedaze Anesthesia, a leader in Surgery Center Staffing)

This past weekend, Dr. Gomez, DNP, CRNA, one of our faculty members at the UC Davis DNP-Nurse Anesthesia Program, participated in the Diversity CRNA Mentorship Program hosted at the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia.
 
Dr. Gomez lectured on obstetric anesthesia and pain management, shared information about our UC Davis DNP-NA Program, and contributed her time and expertise to both the faculty panel and the mock interview panel. She also served as a preceptor during the airway management workshop, guiding and encouraging future CRNA applicants.
 
Her commitment to advancing diversity in nurse anesthesia education and supporting aspiring CRNAs is commendable.
 
In the final photo, Dr. Gomez’s three young children decided to make a surprise appearance at our UC Davis booth. It’s safe to say we’re already recruiting the next generation of Aggies!

This was a filled to seated capacity event of marginalized critical care nurses before applying to Nurse Anesthesia Programs across the country!
 
We had a Zoom option for April 5th (Diversity CRNA 2025 Information Session) for access & learning with almost 100 nurses listening to this captive presentation on the wellness of nurse anesthesia students during their clinical experience.

An evidenced based model, the Diversity CRNA 2025 Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop Event at Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia was a huge success!!

Today, I celebrate my sister, friend, and colleague, Dr. Erica Moore, on her selection as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing Anesthesia (AANA)!!!
 
This is no ordinary achievement—only a little over 200 CRNAs in the country hold this prestigious title, making Dr. Moore part of an elite group of leaders shaping the future of nurse anesthesia. Her dedication to clinical excellence, education, and advocacy has not only impacted her patients and students but has also elevated the entire profession.

Each year, the Nurses Alumni Association (NAA) honors alumni and friends who are committed to the key values and missions of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (NHWSN) and NAA.

Recent Graduate Award is awarded to a NHWSN graduate from the past ten years who has contributed exceptional service to the NHWSN Alumni Association, the School of Nursing, and/or to the profession of nursing. The individual’s contributions to the nursing profession may be in one or more nursing practice specialties: research, education, clinical practice, management/leadership, public health and/or community service.

And, just like that, Dr. Audreau Rose, DNP, CRNA graduated from Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes - Jewish College Nurse Anesthesia Program and passed CRNA boards!

During this 2025 event, 67 BSN junior and 19 ABSN nursing students surrounded by CRNA mentors with immersive anesthesia simulation lab in Nurse Anesthesia trajectory.
